What time zone is the Forgotten Coast in? The Forgotten Coast primarily resides in the Eastern time zone. The time zone change begins in Mexico Beach at the Bay County/Gulf County line. Mexico Beach will be in Central time zone, and everything east, such as Port St. Joe, Cape San Blas, St. George Island and Apalcichola, will be in Eastern time.
Where are the beaches in Port St. Joe? Since Port St. Joe resides within the are of St. Joe Bay, there technically aren't beaches within the actual city itself, however if you venter out just a little west or just a little east you will find some of the prettiest beaches the Gulf Coast has to offer. The beaches of St. Joe Beach (west of town) and Cape San Blas (east of town) are where many locals and visitors like to go to experience the turquoise waters and sugar white sand the most.
Does the Forgotten Coast allow RVs? Yes and no–it will depend on which section you are looking to be in. Mexico Beach does not allow RVs at any time unless staying within an RV park. Certain parts of Gulf and Franklin county allow RVs. In a nutshell, you'll want to stick to RV parks, but if you're looking to purchase land or property in order to bring your RV, especially to leave it full time, then you need to know that the new county ordinance does not allow full time RV parking if the parcel is within 1 mile of the coastline. See more about the ordinance HERE.
